Binaural Beats & Isochronic Tones have been used for decades as a form of Brainwave Entrainment. To put it simply, it is the process of using external stimuli to align ones brainwave frequencies to specific frequency ranges, inducing feelings of relaxation. Although the science behind it can get quite complex and the actual results of Brainwave Entrainment via Binaural Beats has been up for debate, the process in which they are created is quite straighforward. A sine wave tone is generated in each channel (Left and Right), with a slight difference in frequency, between 2 and 48 Hz. Your brain then creates the center channel, a rhythmic beat at the exact frequency of the difference between the two channels. One's brain is then "coerced" into matching up with this frequency, inducing various different altered states-of-mind. Samples of my work are below:
